Chinese Jasmine Revolution: Continuation of Street Walking on March 6th, 2011

Some say: Beijing has too many security forces, and jasmine is declining. Some say: China’s economy is booming, and people are happy and safe, so the jasmine revolution will not come to China. Some say: the Jasmine Revolution is the trick played by the Westerners, hoping for lucrative gain from China’s chaos. Some say: ….

But we say: like all the people around the globe, we have, and should enjoy, a series of inalienable rights. However, these rights were deprived, and what the government did in the past two weekends have clearly showed us and also the world: We don’t even have a right to walk on Wangfujin Street, but we will announce to Beijing: We aught to have all the rights back!

We deeply know: democracy is never bestowed by an almighty God, nor by heroes. In order to achieve citizens’ rights, we need to reply upon ourselves. We especially hope young people born post 80s and 90s warmly welcome our appeals and take your responsibility of our nation.

Let us walk through the three stages of our revolution (as described here), and use the sound of laughter, singing, salutations to win the victory of the people at last!

A few final words:
Continue Walking, Come Every Weekend!
Unstoppable by Wind or Rain till Death!
Preventing Walking as if Fearing Flood
See How Long Beijing is Preventing This?!

       第一件事:醉茶、醉饭、醉酒。有事没事,隔三差五,大伙儿一起醉,越醉人越多,甚至可以不谈政治;
第二件事:送花、献花。找理由、找机会送花、献花,如遇名人或中共领导人去世;

To the Smiling Participants in China’s Jasmine Revolution
Statement From the Organizers/Initiators

We are making a new history of revolution by a unique way: we use the sound of laughter, singing and salutations instead of the sound of guns, cannons and warplanes! We believe: Chinese Jasmine Revolution has already begun; it is now the warm-up stage and is in the right process. This stage, started on Feb 20th, 2011, may take a few weeks, couple of months, a year, or even longer. But in order to avoid the horrendous situations taking place in the country of Libya, it is fitting and worthwhile that we be patient and enduring.

This revolution belongs to the people, and will take three stages:

Initial Stage: The participants take some exercise, physically warm-up, and see how the government responds. Now China's government clearly shows it's horror and fear of the people, as if facing a dead enemy. A modest amount of people, just by walking, has demonstrated people’s power, and the government's response has revealed its weaknesses to the world. This stage requires:
1. Continue spread and disseminate the news of China's Jasmine Revolution and increase the amount people participating in walking, talking, smiling and witnessing. No shouting or slogans, just walking and smiling.
2. Spread the influence to more cities, from major cities to mid-sized cities, and to smaller cities and towns, though with stronger emphasis of major and mid-sized cities.
Some strategic adjustment will be made:
a.                  More sites for street-walking will be appointed in major cities, the current site be the principle walking site. Each weekend at 2pm, multiple walking sites will be in procession at the same time, but gather at the principle site when major event, holiday or memorial day takes place.
b.                  Renown activists, democrats, rights defense people, dissidents and democratic party members are prone to suffer persecutions and may stay at home. The need to protect people’s representatives and significant individuals is noticeable: their absence does not deter the increase of people coming out for walking.

Middle Stage: With considerable scale, we can show our common sign—holding a jasmine flower, and use cell-phone or music player to play Such a Beautiful Jasmine (a famous Chinese folk music).

Final Stage: When the street-walking revolution is irreversible, every city has its own “Hyde Park”. Thirty years ago, when Deng Xiaoping wanted to regain power in the Communist Party, he said: Hyde Park is good! Today, we will say it aloud to regain our basic human rights: Hyde Park is good!  During this stage, we can do three things that can be embedded in our daily lives:
One: Eat and Drink. We can eat and drink even without talking about politics; the more the better.
Two: Make flower tribute. Find reasons and opportunities to make flower tribute, for example, during famous people or senior government leaders passing away.
Three: Initiate discussions at proper situations. For example, discussing Premier Wen Jiabao’s speeches on political reforms, or interactions among the forces in and outside the Party.
Emphasis of this stage lies on adding new walking sites and increasing people’s participation; what finally comes after the warm-up stage should be:
“Jasmine blooms across the country, we anger, we speak and we walk!”
“Let Jasmine fly or bullets fly? All people across the country answer: better let Jasmine fly!”

Chinese Jasmine Revolution is an all-dimension, all people’s happy rights defense movement, and is also a revolution of the lowest cost. Whether or not Chinese people have the right to walk will be recorded in history! Let violence disarm in the sea of smile! Let violence transform into peaceful waves supporting the sea of smiling! Let us win a smiling revolution of the people until the power is returned to the people! Walking and smiling are people’s powers and they far exceed all protests and political statements! May we Chinese combine laughter, singing and salutations with revolutionary acts, and use them as our means to make new contributions to the world peace. This is the new Wonder of China: the Purple Palace collapses in laughter, singing and salutations.

At last, let us believe: Walking is Power! Smiling is Power! Showing Concern is Power! Collective Witnessing Changes China!
